Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which is watching for cases of human transmission of the virus within the country. Even in these poultry markets, however, he says that human transmission has been relatively rare when considering how many people frequent such venues and how prevalent the virus has likely been at each one for nearly three decades. He also notes that though the virus absolutely “has the capacity to cause serious disease and death,” it can also manifest with mild symptoms or no symptoms at all. "Now that it's in America," he says, "it's found a lot of new hosts—in the form of cattle—and is wreaking havoc." Daryl Hall is a modern-day renaissance man, an inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the star of his very own award-winning web series, Live from Daryl’s House, as well as a successful venue owner with “Daryl’s House,” a restored venue and live music space in Pawling, N.Y. To date there have been 84 episodes of ‘Live From Daryl’s House’, 90 when this new season is aired.

“Ferrari” (Neon/ Decal Releasing)

Personally speaking, I’m most excited about “Andor,” which is extraordinarily cinematic and has such beautiful visuals, but having these on the shelf next to theatrical MCU projects offers a new opportunity to view them in the context of a larger storytelling network. That they all come with featurette and documentary content to further explore their worlds is a welcome bonus. Proper exploitation filmmakers Gualtiero Jacopetti and Franco Prosperi decided in 1971 to draw upon true events to recreate the landscape of antebellum America and depict the conditions that Africans faced under slavery. It’s truly a gobsmacking film in many ways, but this presentation gives audiences a chance to assess it more clearly than ever before — for better or worse. Excluding spinoffs or crossovers, John Guillermin’s 1976 remake of “King Kong” trails a distant third among films with that title.

The upcoming releases for May, including the blockbuster “Dune Part Two” directed by Denis Villeneuve and timeless classics like “The Crow” featuring Brandon Lee and “Girlfight” starring Michelle Rodriguez, underscore that cinema’s pulse is ever-vibrant. These releases celebrate the enduring spirit of the films, highlighting that regardless of the prevailing trends, the cinematic experience is perpetual and revered. Though a handful of his films have begun to appear in the libraries of the Criterion Collection and elsewhere, writer-director John Sayles remains one of American independent cinema’s most underappreciated voices.

Also reflecting on the power of the arts and of the Roths’ philanthropy were Laurel Richie ’81, chair of the Hop Board of Advisors and chair emerita of the Board of Trustees, and Peggy Epstein Tanner ’79, trustee emerita and chair of the President’s Leadership Council. Vogel spoke of Daryl Roth’s influence in the theater world, particularly in supporting women’s voices, including her own. Among the speakers honoring the Roths and the breadth of Dartmouth’s reach in the art world were Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paula Vogel and chair emeritus of the Dartmouth Board of Trustees Bill Helman ’81.

So far, the USDA has identified cases of H5N1 contamination in cattle herds in Texas, New Mexico, South Dakota, Colorado, Idaho, Michigan, Ohio, Kansas, and North Dakota, but Webby says extensive nationwide testing hasn't been done yet and that herds in other states are also likely contaminated. What's more, he says it isn't known how transmission is occurring between cows; the current theory is that contamination may be occurring through dairy equipment involved in the milking process. "Once we can get a handle on how it's spreading, there's a good chance we can stop it," he explains.

I believe theater, in particular, can be the ultimate bridge builder, with stories that open our hearts and minds and take us places where we can come to better understand ourselves and others,” she said. Steven Roth, a former Dartmouth trustee and the chairman and CEO of Vornado Realty Trust, spoke about why it matters to invest in the arts now, and how he hopes the Roth Wing and the Arts District will build on Dartmouth’s legacy for producing creative leaders for generations to come. Daryl Roth, an acclaimed and prolific producer on Broadway, and Steven Roth, a pioneering national business leader, have had a lifelong association with Dartmouth since Steve’s enrollment as an undergraduate in 1958. Variety reports that the season will kick off on Wednesday, November 1, with an episode featuring Squeeze’s Glen Tilbrook.

The situation has evolved now that the virus is also impacting people in new regions of the world and has infected at least 48 mammal species, including cattle, elephant seals, and even polar bears. Perhaps no one is better qualified to discuss this “havoc” than Webby. A New Zealand native, Webby was hired by St. Jude's some 25 years ago to help study the first incident of H5N1 human infection following six deaths occurring in Hong Kong in 1997. Since that time, he has studied every mutation of the virus and countless cases across many species to get a handle on how it spreads, what effect it has on different hosts, and what humans need to be on the lookout for. Daryl Roth, a Tony Award-winning theater producer who has brought more than 120 productions to the stage on- and off-Broadway, spoke of how the arts cultivate hope and understanding in a turbulent world.

This is because there's no existing policy to do so since the virus was only discovered in cows at the end of March, and because it doesn't seem to be an "all-systems infection" in cattle as it is in poultry. Indeed, in most cases, infected cows have manifested only mild symptoms, and most have recovered within a week to 10 days. Most such individuals were exposed in areas of the world where live-poultry markets abound—venues where birds are slaughtered and dressed for buyers to take home. Because infected birds are known to shed the virus through their saliva, blood, mucus and feces, Webby says that viral loads of H5N1 are commonplace in such markets, making human infection more likely. The renewed Hop joins the recently expanded and renovated Hood Museum of Art, the Black Family Visual Arts Center, and the Maffei Arts Plaza in creating a centralized Arts District that makes clear the value Dartmouth places on the arts as a vehicle for discovery, innovation, and connection across cultures and worldviews. Proximity of the visual and performing arts in state-of-the-art facilities offers students, faculty, and visiting artists a platform for interdisciplinary collaboration and creative production.

New episodes of “LFDH” will drop weekly, with Tilbrook followed by Atlanta psychedelic jam band Blackberry Smoke singer/guitarist Charlie Starr (Nov. 8); King Crimson guitarist and Daryl Hall solo album producer Robert Fripp (pictured above with Hall, Nov. 15); singer/songwriters Andy Grammer (Nov. 22), Lisa Loeb (Nov. 29) and U.K. Originally a web series, Live from Daryl's House expanded to broadcast TV but remained unchanged. Written by Paul Schrader, John Flynn’s “Rolling Thunder” is a bloody, magnificent tale about a PTSD-afflicted Vietnam veteran (the beautifully taciturn William Devane) who enlists a fellow serviceman (Tommy Lee Jones) to exact revenge on the men who kill his wife and son.

A 4K Blu-ray on your shelf guarantees immediate, uninterrupted viewing—free from buffering or service outages—of your favorite films and TV shows in stunning resolution. Moreover, these discs frequently include a wealth of bonus content, ranging from archival gems to freshly produced features that enrich the viewing experience with contextual insights and behind-the-scenes explorations. Disney has always maintained a robust presence in the physical media market, so the fact that they’re now issuing hard copies of series that premiered on the company’s streaming service isn’t surprising. But for completists like yours truly, and the few fans of Marvel and/ or Lucasfilm who don’t have a subscription to Disney+, having these series on disc is a godsend.

Even though I certainly got a lot of pressure to offer third-wave coffee and make the coffee in different ways, we didn’t want to do that. Unless that happens, though, and unless the public milk supply is deemed unsafe, he says there isn't cause for alarm. "At this point, there's no evidence from the information that's been provided that the virus currently circulating in cows is any more infectious to humans than the one that's been circulating in birds for nearly 30 years—and we already know that transmission risk is very low." "This is still very much a bird virus that would much rather be replicating in birds," he says. "But the concern is that while it was mainly only replicated in birds, it had no pressure to change to be more infectious to humans," he explains.

The fountain in front of David Geffen Hall was colored green for the occasion, and guests were encouraged to wear green and white. Wolfson gives credit to the show’s popularity for the resurgence in Hall’s career over the past decade, introducing him to new artists and audiences he may not have reached previously.

The authenticity of the setting and the characters’ struggles is vividly brought to life with a new 4K digital restoration, supervised by Kusama and director of photography Patrick Cady. The re-release is enhanced by a 5.1 surround DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack, immersing viewers in the gritty world of the gym and Brooklyn. New interviews with Kusama, editor Plummy Tucker, composer Theodore Shapiro and an essay by acclaimed author Carmen Maria Machado provide deeper insights into the film’s creative process, themes, and cultural impact. AXS TV is proud to bring back Live From Daryl’s House for another season! The party with Rock & Roll Hall of Famer, Daryl Hall, continues with ten additional episodes of the award-winning music series beginning on Thursday, October 1st.

So, we never had a time limit and we never booted people if they’ve been sitting there and nursing their drink for a long time. It isn’t just about the sale, but it’s about giving people a place and everything. Further testing revealed, however, that the pasteurization process had indeed inactivated the virus, so the particles present posed no real danger. "That bottle of milk is still in my refrigerator at home and I'm still drinking from it," Webby says. Trying to help the team by providing a negative control sample to compare the positive samples to, Webby purchased a bottle of milk from his own local supermarket in Memphis and was surprised to find particles of the virus in that milk as well—revealing just how widespread dairy contamination likely is.

Live From Daryl’s House Is Back For A New Season

Live from Daryl’s House debuted on November 15, 2007, with a solo episode featuring Daryl himself, often spotlighting local chefs cooking their cuisine on camera. The first few seasons offered an eclectic mix of legends and newcomers from Gym Class Heroes’ Travis McCoy, Chromeo, Fitz and the Tantrums, Minus the Bear, Aloe Blacc and K.T. Tunstall to Nick Lowe, the Doors’ Robby Krieger and Ray Manzarek, Smokey Robinson, Toots & the Maytals, Train, Jose Feliciano, Billy Gibbons, Sammy Hagar, Todd Rundgren, Cheap Trick, Wyclef Jean, Aaron Neville and Kenny Loggins. Since 2014, “Daryl’s House” Restaurant and Music Club in Pawling, NY has been the series homebase.

Your Lair summer adventure is calling.

A lot of companies sort of either go away or become part of bigger companies, and it’s all over the world, which is a different model than us. There’s certainly been a lot of conversations about the death of independent small businesses. So for us to have that staying power and be thriving 35 years later, I think it’s an amazing thing. It is also a credit to how the Berkeley community and the campus community sustained us. One of the main things was that, at the time, there were a lot of cafes and businesses that were putting time limits on tables. You could get your drink, but then you couldn’t stay more than an hour or whatever.

The food comes from various local restaurants and the chefs of those establishments walk Hall and guest through the preparation of the food. Martin Scorsese’s films have really only begun to trickle out onto 4K, but the arrival of the film for which he finally won a Best Director Oscar is a welcome addition to that slim collection. In addition to two featurettes and a whopping nine deleted scenes, each introduced by Scorsese himself, the 4K release includes “Guilt and Betrayal,” a new documentary exploring the origins of the film and its legacy — cinematically and within the director’s expansive filmography. As the industry increasingly veers towards streaming as its primary mode of distribution, collecting physical media is becoming a niche yet cherished pastime. It remains the most reliable method to ensure access to a broad spectrum of titles, often in the highest possible quality.

These are the only two known human infections of the virus within the country ever. In April, Vietnam also reported a cattle-related human H5N1 infection, making it only the second cattle-related infection worldwide. "It's very sensitive to elevated heat or any changes in pH levels, and it really doesn't like being outside of a host." Because of this, he says the only food supply issue he's currently concerned about stems from people drinking unpasteurized milk. And while more than 131 million virus-exposed birds are slaughtered every year across 67 countries, Webby says that related cattle culling isn't currently taking place in the country.

Daryl Hall Set to Release New Solo Retrospective LP, Tour With Todd Rundgren

Over the years, guests have included Robby Kreger and Ray Manzarek of The Doors, Todd Rundgren, Rob Thomas, Dave Stewart, José Feliciano, Joe Walsh, Jason Mraz and Billy Gibbons. ‘Live From Daryl’s House’ started as a web-based program in 2007. The first episode featured Daryl with his band performing Cab Driver”, “Dreamtime”, “Everything Your Heart Desires”, “Foolish Pride”, “I’m In A Philly Mood”, “It’s A Laugh”, “Sara Smile” and “Someone Else’s Kids”.

“The Bad Lieutenant” (Kino Lorber)

I can’t imagine life without Strada, and I can’t imagine ever retiring from it. Strada has lived up to its acclaim by attracting prominent visitors including former Vice President Al Gore. It’s also where Professors Mazur and Ribet conversed and discovered that Ribet had proven the epsilon conjecture. He says it's possible for things to change, however, as the virus has long been limited to birds and its crossing into cattle could lead to a more infectious variant. Alongside such efforts, a team of researchers that Webby works with at Ohio State University, have tested more than 150 commercially available milk products and found particles of the viruses "in about 40 percent of the samples they collected," says Webby. The USDA is preventing further spread of the virus by requiring any of the country's estimated eight million lactating dairy cows to be tested for H5N1 before crossing state lines.

Because cows are a common food source, Webby says the fact that the virus can now infect and replicate within them is "very concerning.” And because this is uncharted territory, he says government agencies need to monitor the situation closely as scientists strive to get to the bottom of what’s happening. "If you look at the blood of people in Southeast Asia where these live poultry markets are so common, you'll find a large percentage of people who have antibodies of this virus, suggesting that many of them may have had it, but didn't know they were sick," he says. Though the H5N1 virus, commonly known as avian influenza or bird flu, was discovered in waterfowl in Southern China in 1996, it's raising concerns again because it's recently jumped from poultry to cattle, leading many to worry about potentially contaminated food supplies throughout the United States. The two institutions share a common mission of supporting and creating broad access to groundbreaking artistic creations and fostering the next generation of performing artists.

The FDA released a statement in late April saying that the country's commercial milk supply is still considered "safe." This is because fresh milk is pasteurized—an industrial process of heating milk to a high enough temperature to kill harmful bacteria. Also, milk known to come from sick cows is being destroyed as an added precaution. The first thing to understand is that no one knows how widespread cattle contamination is within the U.S. Webby says there have been instances where cows have died from the virus, but noted that some cows have been asymptomatic and that it's not nearly as deadly among cattle as it is among birds. Therefore, "it's possible that many herds are infected and not showing obvious signs of sickness," he says. WHO currently assesses the public health risk of cattle-to-human transmission of the virus "to be low," but notes that their assessment "will be reviewed should further epidemiological or virological information become available."

Never before released on disc, his 1991 film “City of Hope,” about crime, corruption and redemption in a fictitious East Coast city, arrives on Blu-ray from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment with a new feature commentary by Sayles. An Independent Spirit Award nominee for Best Feature, Sayles’ film is woefully overdue for rediscovery. One of the most famous — and controversial — Westerns ever made, Fred Zinneman’s “High Noon” feels especially ripe for rediscovery in today’s heightened political climate. Kino Lorber’s special edition offers a brand-new HD master from a 4K scan of the original camera negative, two new audio commentaries, and a dense collection of featurettes contextualizing everything from its production to its legacy.

I started a petition at Strada where customers signed that they wanted to bring Pliny to Strada. I took that to Russian River Brewing, and they thought that was really funny. They said we’d have to try out these other beers for a year before we are even considered. Then, just recently for our 35th anniversary, they said we could start doing Pliny. There’s certainly an emotion that it creates and an emotional attachment you have to the place that’s above and beyond it being a business.

Because of this, Webby says the people who ought to be most cautious at this point are any dairy farmers who could be working with infected cattle and anyone drinking unpasteurized milk or eating unpasteurized milk products. Highlights of the evening included appearances by comedians Rachel Dratch ’88 and Tina Fey, and performances by undergraduates, including the Dartmouth Aires and trumpeter Jacob Crawford ’27. John Oates joined Daryl for episode two and in 2008, Daryl started to bring in regular guests to the show. In that first year, Travis McCoy, KT Tunstall, Chuck Prophet, Nick Lowe, Monte Montgomery, Chromeo, Finger Eleven, Eric Hutchinson, and Kevin Rudolf joined Daryl at his actual house to perform. Live from Daryl’s House, which premiered online in 2007, features Hall collaborating with various musical guests, usually teaming up on versions of each other’s songs. In addition to being available on the web, the series also has been syndicated and has aired on a number of cable and streaming channels over the years.

Unable to cope with the fact that she might have HIV, she borrows some Ecstacy and sleeps with Chase. Thankfully, she soon learns that her HIV tests were negative and that sleeping with Chase and taking Ecstacy were big mistakes. Still, in 2021, California had its hottest June to July in the observational period, and researchers have established a strong relationship between warm, dry summers and area burned in the state’s forests, he said. The size of the heat dome made it particularly troubling because it resulted in what the study authors called widespread synchronous burning, with many disparate areas igniting at the same time. That posed a challenge to fire agencies because they tend to ask for help from other places when they don’t have enough resources locally. The researchers also found strong links between the extreme heat and wildfire activity in 2021.

In an effort to discover the source of the epidemic, House begins treating the children. However, when the kidneys of two of the children shut down, House is forced to test which drug caused the failure, resulting in one of the babies dying. Following an autopsy, the team discovers the presence of echovirus 11, CMV, and parvovirus B19 antibodies.

Friend and Lerner, who are business partners, had been offered positions when the series launched, but turned the opportunity down. Each episode is directed by a different director and a different host of characters. While the characters change, each story revolves around the titular house at different times in chronological order. This story revolves around a family that moves into the house in the 19th century. First came the resignation of Foreman, followed by the departure of the rest of House's team, leaving House to himself and opening the door to bring in new characters. House makes him miserable, but as the administrative work is getting done, Cuddy hints the position as head of diagnostics could be made permanent. However, House manages to save a patient having HIV that Foreman wanted to discharge, so Cuddy withdraws the offer, with both of them realizing that House will soon be back in charge. Foreman remains head of the department for a few more weeks until at the middle of the episode Deception when Foreman's time literally runs out. Sela Ward's chemistry with Laurie in the final two episodes of Season 1 was strong enough to have her character return in seven episodes of the second season.

Per his LinkedIn page, he currently works for a financial company, Willis Towers Watson, in New York. Without revealing too much about the events of season 2, know that Rhaenyra will be looking to exact revenge for her son’s death at the hands of Prince Aemond’s dragon, Vhagar. This will eventually unfold into a much larger battle, culminating in The Dance of the Dragons. The war will consume all of the Seven Kingdoms — major Westerosi houses will forge alliances with either Targaryen faction.

A pregnant woman (Marin Hinkle)[27] arrives at the hospital with brain and kidney problems and House must contend with her condition and Vogler's eagerness to see the doctor removed by using the board members. The patient and her husband must decide between her life and their unborn child's, after the team discovers small cell lung cancer. Vogler proposes that the board to revoke House's tenure and fire him but Wilson opposes. Vogler then proposes the board remove Wilson, which they do, to which Wilson resigns.

House's team suspects that House made a mistake with the epinephrine, but when they try to find the source of her problems, she suffers hallucinations, convulsions and a rash appears on her leg. An investigation of the convent reveals figwort tea, which explains only the reaction with the epinephrine. She is placed in a hypoallergenic room but inexplicably still has an allergic reaction.

His character was brought in after Universal Studios president Jeff Zucker threatened that the season would be cut short by six episodes if a boss-character would not be added. While there were possibilities of the character returning, he was generally disliked by viewers and critics and therefore not brought back into the show. Sela Ward, who would return as the main recurring character of Season 2, appeared in the final two episodes as Stacy Warner, House's former girlfriend. However, when treating a chemistry teacher, Chase and Adams are in the room when the patient suffers a psychotic break. In the melee, Chase is badly stabbed and the life-saving surgery nearly costs him the use of his legs as well.

This resulted in his first Emmy Award nomination for "Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series" for his role as Gregory House. We knew the network was looking for procedurals, and Paul [Attanasio] came up with this medical idea that was like a cop procedural. The series' executive producers included Shore, Attanasio, Attanasio's business partner Katie Jacobs, and film director Bryan Singer. It was filmed largely in a neighborhood and business district in Los Angeles County's Westside called Century City.

The trial-and-error of new medicine skillfully expands the show beyond the format of a classic procedural, and at the show's heart, a brilliant but flawed physician is doling out the prescriptions—a fitting symbol for modern medicine. First, Daemon must zoom around Westeros to gather as many houses as possible for that fight. I suspect that the strategy set-up will take up much of this second season, but unlike with the book, Rhaenyra might even leave Dragonstone to participate.

Chase eagerly returns, and even Taub prefers the excitement of saving lives to the routine of fixing noses. However, House initially tries to reconnect with Thirteen, he finally sends her off with her girlfriend to live in Greece. Throughout the season we see that House chooses his own interests over Cuddy until Cuddy comes down with what seems to be cancer that has metastasized, which will most likely result in her death. It is learned, though, that the tumor is benign and the metastasis was just harmless inflammation, and what was thought to be the cancer spreading was an allergy to antibiotics.

House also reveals that he suspected John House wasn't his biological father and House points out a family friend at the service who House believes really is his father. After they return to Princeton, Wilson realizes he hadn't had this kind of fun since the day Amber died and decides to return to Princeton-Plainsboro. However, none of the cast members left at this point, they just filled different roles. Foreman, who initially tried to move on, instead wound up as a supervising fellow over the new hires. Cameron moved to the emergency room and started a relationship with Chase, who moved to the surgical department in an attempt to become board certified.

However, Lucille, in a decision House claims to be inconsistent with her schizophrenia, calls Social Services to take her son. The team consider that Wilson's disease could explain all symptoms and an eye exam shows copper-colored rings around her irises. After overhearing a conversation about a sick baby, House investigates the maternity ward and predicts an epidemic. After realizing the severity of the disease, Cuddy quarantines the maternity ward.

A Look Back on Kyle's TV Series American Woman

After this major change, the opening sequence was changed when Season 7 started. House's father dies, and House tries to dodge the funeral, only to have Wilson return as a favor to Cuddy and Blythe House to ensure that House makes it. During the trip, the details of the beginnings of their friendship are revealed.

After a hard reveal by House that Cuddy and him were an item and currently aren't, Thirteen reveals that she killed a man. Even so, House allows her in on the case he was on during the road trip, and to the team's surprise, Thirteen solves the case for them. Afterward, House promises to be there to euthanize Thirteen when the time comes in her own battle with Huntington's. Thirteen has to confront the reality, forced upon her by Amber's death at an early age, that she too is facing a lifetime with a devastating illness. Her behavior quickly starts to deteriorate and she is fired and then re-hired.

He diagnoses Rebecca with cerebral vasculitis and her condition improves with treatment. To find the source of Rebecca's seizures, House convinces Dr. Eric Foreman to break into Rebecca's house. At the hospital, Rebecca suddenly loses her vision and suffers another seizure. When Rebecca refuses treatment, House persuades her otherwise by proving her condition with a non-invasive X-ray suggested by Dr. Robert Chase, which depicts a tapeworm larva embedded in her leg, supporting their diagnosis. In early 2012, it was confirmed that this season was House's last, and it would have a "swan song" episode (a two hour finale consisting of a retrospective and the series finale).

Obviously, the show will continue to track the Targaryen lineage about 300 years prior to near-extinction level on Game of Thrones. Yet whereas the first season charted the mistakes that were made (mainly by King Viserys, RIP) that led to the dominoes being lined up, this season pits the two teams — Black (Targaryen) and Green (Hightower) — against each other atop dragons. So, we’ll see the “Dance of the Dragons,” so nicknamed by the civilians of Westeros, take place with mass casualties as a result.

Cameron reveals that she was keeping a frozen sample of her deceased first husband's sperm in case she never found a new person but still wanted to have children. Not long after Kutner's suicide, House develops severe insomnia and begins to hallucinate, seeing visions of Amber. These visions are extremely vivid and allow House a direct line to his own sub-conscious.

Meanwhile, Foreman receives a lucrative job offer from John Henry's doctor, his former mentor. Sister Augustine (Elizabeth Mitchell) arrives at the hospital with her hands covered in severe rash, which her fellow nuns think looks like stigmata and which House diagnoses as dermatitis caused by a dish soap allergy. When the antihistamines he gives her cause an asthma attack, House administers epinephrine, and she suffers a minor heart attack.

The charges are revoked after a CT scan reveals the baby has DiGeorge syndrome, causing the malnourishment. After returning from jogging with his best friend, Ed (Dominic Purcell) is uncharacteristically abused by his bedridden wife, Elise (Myndy Crist). House concludes that she either has rabbit fever from cooking rabbits or African sleeping sickness, which must have been sexually transmitted since neither of them has been to Africa. They both strongly deny having an affair so House starts treatment for rabbit fever. She confesses to an affair with her husband's best friend, causing her husband to leave her.

Happy Hour

dolphin bar and shrimp house menu

The restaurant’s pièce de résistance, the Dolphin Ala Dolphin, lived up to its reputation. Fresh Dolphin, dipped in an herb Parmesan egg wash and sautéed, emerged flawlessly flaky and moist. A tangy Lemon Butter Caper sauce elevated the fish’s inherent flavors, while the side of green beans added a fresh, contrasting touch. Particularly nostalgic was the side of Dolphinaise potatoes, reminiscent of the creamy escalloped potatoes from mid-century dining. This combination of classic and contemporary flavors made the dish an undeniably memorable experience. Choice Cut was grilled with precision—its exterior boasted a flawless crust and distinct grill marks, while the interior revealed a beautifully pink medium rare, seasoned just right.

But Frances loved good food and she loved to have fun – and it will be great food and good times that carry forward in the spirit of The Dolphin Bar & Shrimp House, as they will in the spirit of Frances Langford Stuart. During WWII, Lt. Frederic M. Ayres Jr. was among those men and women whom she had charmed. He had captained a US Navy Sub Chaser and was the father of The Dolphin Bar & Shrimp House’s founder, Fred Ayres. Fred Ayres visited The Outrigger with his father in the 1960’s while the resort was in it’s prime. When Ayres saw the once magnificent Outrigger in a state of disrepair in the 1990’s, he knew the historic structure still held the warmth that Frances Langford had instilled in it. And it was with Frances Langford Stuart’s help and well wishes that the building, that had once held the exotic Outrigger and it’s famous patrons, was refurbished and restored.

Happy Hour

Paired with this was a side of mashed potatoes so smooth they seemed almost silken. The Dijon cream sauce was a delightful addition, creamy and flavorful without overshadowing the natural taste of the meat. Accompanied by the familiar grilled asparagus, this dish balanced robust flavors with elegant preparation. We share in an appreciation for great service, as well as great experiences.

A gentle tap shattered the caramelized layer, revealing a lusciously smooth and subtly chocolate-infused custard beneath. Frances Langford had celebrated special occasions, family birthdays, and the Christmas Holidays at The Dolphin. She was among the first customers to be greeted at the door by owner Fred Ayres on The Dolphin’s opening night. Her kindness and grace will never be forgotten.

First up was the Mango Key Lime Pie, a tropical delight that was every bit as creamy as it was refreshing. Its velvety texture and subtle fruitiness made it an instant palate pleaser. Sharing the spotlight was the day’s Crème Brûlée, a chocolate variant that left me impressed. A true test of any Crème Brûlée lies in the brittle sugar crust on top, and this one excelled.

Outdoor seating,

While gratitude towards Frances for her help and the historic past she bestowed upon these premises will never fade, The Dolphin Bar & Shrimp House is a house built on the foundation of exquisite food and fine and happy times. An unexpected highlight during my visit was reconnecting with Chef Dave Gould. I last ran into him at my review of Cobb’s Landing in Fort Pierce a little over 4 years ago. Recognized for his culinary prowess, and learning that he was recently promoted to the Executive Chef position overseeing all three venues brought a sense of anticipation and delight. Fast service,

Enjoy our beautiful panoramic waterfront views and make sure to check out the history of our location in our display area. The Dolphin Bar & Shrimp House location is intrinsically unique, as it sits over-hanging the river’s edge. This special touch came when it was built by the famous historic movie star, Frances Langford.

It’s savory odors captivate you as you take in the relaxing riverfront ambiance. And that dish is just one snippet of the many sumptuous treats offered at The Dolphin Bar & Shrimp House. Our meal kicked off with the Seared Ahi Tuna, an inviting dish with as much flavor as it had visual appeal. The Ahi filet, delicately encrusted with sesame seeds, was seared to perfection, revealing a rare middle. Its pencil-thick slices were fanned out, showcasing the beautiful gradient of its sear. To cap off an exquisite meal, I was treated to two of the restaurant’s top dessert selections.

With such an appropriate placement, it gives it’s customers the most spectacular panoramic views. These exceptional views span from the Stuart Causeway all the way up the river to the Jensen Beach Causeway Bridge. Incorporate the restaurant’s superb location with The Dolphin’s signature dish, The Dolphin a la Dolphin, and it is easy to feel the impact of these surroundings. Imagine this… A filet of the freshest locally caught Dolphin, sautéed in flour and egg to a beautiful light brown glaze, flavored with dry white wine, butter, lemon, capers, and fresh herbs, sitting in front of you.
